Gifts In Kind

Gifts In Kind

Islamic Relief USA’s program for Gifts in Kind (also known as in-kind donations) offers organizations the opportunity to donate material goods that fill an important need in its emergency relief efforts or its sustainable programs. How does it work? Simply put, IRUSA receives donations of quality, nonmonetary goods from organizations that have them in surplus—items such as medicines, hospital equipment, food, clothes, tents, air or ground transportation, backpacks, vitamins, kitchen untensils, wheelchairs, diapers, toys, and more. The items are then sent to help those in need. GIK is an incredible way to positively affect the lives of beneficiaries because it gives them direct access to some of the items they need most. And, it can benefit the groups that donate too: By gifting items, such as medicines, clothes and furniture, these companies and organizations have the opportunity to reduce waste by turning their excess into charitable resources that help our brothers and sisters in need.
